Queers of the Cosmos

Purpose

This document serves as an all encompassing encyclopedia for LGBTQA+ communities, cultures and identities across the many planets in the universe. I is seen, in part as a survival guide to those within the queer community, nobody wants to accidentally cause an incident.

It is first divided up by planet and alien species. from there it is divided up in topics relating to the queer communities within said planets and species.

References

This encyclopedia references articles, documents and textbooks about queer people from every culture. For example: you can find most of Earth's academic texts on the LGBTQA+ community catalogued here as well as media associated with that community.

Publication Status

It is publically accessible to anyone in the universe.

Under the legal system of most planets, this document counts as an encyclopedia.

Historical Details

Background

the cultural and historical background was that the cultural awkwardness of first contact between species caused issues between species. Members of several LGBTQA+ communities decided to created a wikipedia styled encyclopedia to aide themselves and others when contacting other queer communities for the first time.

History

Started out of several awkward moments from many first contact situations. Specifically members of queer communities attempted to navigate alien LGBTQA+ communities and embarrassing fiascos happened. These awkward moments were frequent until one day some people decided to catalogue their respective queer communities to make it easier on themselves when visiting.
The initial catalogue was the initial base for it. Soon after those who have also had similar awkward encounters joined in and expanded the catalogue to prevent future embarrassments. Over time members of the community, experts, historians and anthropologists all end up putting their two cents into the catalogue.
Today it is now the premier encyclopedia for queer people of the cosmos.

It developed a reputation of being free to edit but also strict on the accuracy of it's information. It's also has a reputation of being helpful to the queer community with anecdotes telling that lovers and friends were made through the help of the document.

Staticites , being a genetically engineered solely female species, are the female to male or non-binary variety. Due to being constructed by a malicious and oppressive queen, those that left discovered the queer cultures of other civilizations and found something they would never have found under the queen’s rule.
Queer and trans culture within the species is defined by the sense of freedom and exploration one gets when they realize they are queer. To them it’s a euphoria that should never be stamped out and an affirmation of identity.
A common saying amongst them is “you are you and you will journey on your own path.”

The Prang , even with their dysmorphism and somewhat distinct views on beauty have the same principles regarding queer identities as other species. When encountering queer Prang culture, remember what counts as masculine and feminine traits will aide in figuring out the play of gender ideals and beauty standards that can be found within the community.
Within the trans community, Transwomen can often be seen taking on muscle while transmen can be often seen embracing chubbiness. There are hormone treatments for the species, with each formula an attempt to improve the process. The one thing no Prang has ever achieved is a growth or shrink formula to deal with the height dysmorphism that appear for some trans people. Some scientists even consider this a holy grail of sorts for scientific discoveries.

The Mammoth Men  have displayed LGBTQA+ relations within their communities. Polyamory and polygamy seems to be normal within tribal communities; anthropologists believed that being a hunter-gatherer society allowed for greater acceptance of multiple lovers. They do have a concept of a third gender that may or may not encompass the equivalent of non-binary and transgender concepts. Anthropologists are still trying to pin down their ideas of gender.
When asked, members of the species didn’t seem care that homosexual relations occurred or that a member considered themselves the opposite sex. What seemed to matter was that they still performed their duties to the tribe.
Also please don’t use modern terminology or concepts around them. This is a protected species and culture, anthropologists already have enough on their plate without having cultural contamination.

Cybercissans are similar to Earth humans regarding their gender and sexual identities. What differs them from the human cultures is the backlash to corporate commodification and cybernetic implementation that have define the subcultures for several decades now.
Corporations run this planet, in turn everything they get their hands on become hollow shells of what it should be. Cybernetics and technology, by contrast, is used by the subcultures as another way of expressing queer identities.
This chapter will focus on, in depth, how cybernetics and corporate shenanigans have shaped the subcultures.

Orwellans officially don’t have an LGBTQA+ culture, at least that’s what the government will tell you. The oppressive societal and cultural nature prevents the queer subcultures from every coming out in the open. There are queer Orwellans, with every identity present. The people are defined in one part protecting each other from the authoritarian police state that permeates the planet. The tight-knit and protective nature is welcoming to those visiting and to those leaving. The queer people are also defined by rebellion and defiance, particularly against the government and societal status quo. They, to put it simply, will not be stamped out and pass silently into the night. Visitors from Earth have described the subcultures as very punk-like and assertively loud.
A third element that defines them is an air of secrecy, this was to protect themselves from outside and harmful forces. Even after they became out and normalized, they will still convene in secret places and use codes, euphemisms and a specific form of doublethink to protect themselves.
