Captain Zardoz Zord
Zardoz Zord leads the Sea Maidens Faire carnival, which operates a trio of ships that travel the Sword Coast: the Heartbreaker, the Eyecatcher, and the Hellraiser. He spent most of his time aboard the Eyecatcher, his personal ship—the other two carry members of the carnival, as well as parade wagons.
Zardoz Zord is a disguise donned by Jarlaxle Baenre used to infiltrate the city of Waterdeep. The Sea Maidens Faire is a cover operation to hide the fact that Jarlaxle is finding a way to get Luskan into the Lords' Alliance, and searching for the Stone of Golorr. However, Jarlaxle performs in the Sea Maidens Faire's parades under the guise of Zardoz Zord purely for the fun of it.
While the Sea Maidens Faire is real and does perform, the three ships are run by the Bregan D'aerthe, and are teeming with drow under Jarlaxle's employ. The figureheads of each of Jarlaxle's ships make the crew appear to be human at all times. The only way to dispel this effect is to destroy the figurehead.
Unabashed in all he does, Zardoz Zord (unless forced to) never wears anything more than his fancy hat, his bandoliers, finely made leather boots, and a leather speedo. Zardoz Zord is a flamboyant, jovial, kind, and gracious man. Unconcerned with city politics, his only aim is to bring joy and wonder to the hearts of people everywhere. When not cavorting around the city promoting the debut of the Sea Maiden's Faire, he spends his time on his personal ship, The Eyecatcher, anchored in the harbor, rehearsing with his all-human crew, indulging in his weakness for delectable foods and libations, or seducing any man or woman that stirs his loins.
