Mistshore

Once a chaotic sprawl of half-sunken ship hulks and makeshift homes, Mistshore clung to the northern edge of Waterdeep’s Dock Ward, rising from the lowered harbor floor in the wake of the Spellplague. Formed by the desperate and displaced—especially halflings and gnomes fleeing the collapse of the Warrens—it became a haven for those the city forgot. Among them were the families of Jonnie and Melvin, who grew up amid the ruin, finding strength, humor, and solidarity in the wreckage.   For Jonnie, Mistshore was more than home—it was the reason he started making music in the first place. In the aftermath of loss, when fire and time stripped the slum to ashes, it wasn’t glory or fame he sought. It was joy. He wanted to give something back to the people who had nothing else.   Though Mistshore is mostly gone now, burned out a year ago and left to rot, it remains a defining thread in the lives of those who survived it—binding them with grief, resilience, and the quiet promise that some stories, even sunken ones, still echo.
