22: Teleportation (8th of Tarshak)

Making their way downstairs the party ran into Zhent reinforcements so decided to rest, using the tiny hut to block off access from below. The next morning Cyclone used the Flame Skull as a suicide bomber to easily dispatch the Zhents. Making their way up the Eastern Tower the party battled a flying Spectator and snakes, clearing the room and securing 5 locked chests and a teleportation circle.

The party discovered that one of the rings pulled from a Zhent leader seemed to resonate with the circle and managed to active it, transporting the party to an observation room. On three sides the room was made of transparent glass, through which a swirling purple mist could be seen, while on the forth a locked iron door was set into an alabaster wall.
As the doors opened they were invited into the ante chamber but the masked man who abducted the party and after a brief discussion the party slew him and his minions. Exploring the facility the party found a freezing room with a class coffin containing a body that looks identical to the masked man. Further exploring the compound the party entered a bedroom in which another version of the masked man sat. He offered the party a job to slay the Xanathar and his lieutenants, which they accepted, before leaving instructing the party to contact him when they are ready to depart. The party continued upstairs where the surprised another copy in his study. This copy reacted violently before disappearing as the purple mist began to infiltrate the compound. Jacq began banishing people in hope of finding a safe port. Managing to banish Tucker to Waterdeep he returned with Vradja Shadow staff who escorted the party to safety.
