Echlion
The Echlion are a batanoid species known for their criminal inclinations and general bad attitude. Although not all of the species are criminal in nature, the vast majority prefer to propagate the stereotype in truth. As such it is near impossible to find a criminal outfit in any sector the galaxy that does not contain a few Echlion. As a result the few non-criminal settlements tend to keep to themselves and not advertise themselves to others to avoid conflict.

History
Originally the Echlion lived on their home planet Coora. This changed when the Exoi, another sentient species inhabiting the planet, rose from their watery ecosystem with intent to claim the land of the planet also. The Echlion were no match for the advanced species and could do nothing to defend their treetop and cave dwelling homes. As their homes were destroyed, the species fled off world and became the nomadic culture we know today.
They realised the only way they could survive with such a culture was with a vast profit income and turned to criminal activities as a result. This evolved to the current generations where it is assumed that every Echlion in criminally inclined in someway and each Echlion youngling is assumed to join whatever racket their family is included in. These younglings see it not as crime but merely as their way of life.
