Biography
Beckoning Mystery
Egatz began life at the age of 20, or at least that's what he tells the lost travelers he meets on his adventures. His birth, childhood, and teen years all vanished from his otherwise reliable memory. The earliest recollection of conscious existence he has is emerging from a stupor to bright lights and worried faces whilst sat atop a grassy hill next to a beautiful waterfall. He was told he cascaded from high above the clouds where the eyes cannot observe into the resplendant waters of Angel Falls. Despite the perilous fall that would be fatal to the ordinary man Egatz suffered no injuries, the villagers that rescued him thought him to be some form of Celestial effigy sent down from the Powers-upon-High and with this strange assumption treated him with the same God fearing respect they would any godly vessel.
Egatz enjoyed the splendour of having his every taste catered to, a home built specifically for him, gifts left at his freshly crafted door, but there was a strange longing he felt: a yearning in his soul that could only be quenched through song. After hearing the townsfolk rehearse hymns in the church a magnificent idea dawned upon Egatz, he set about turning his fictitious dreams into reality and organised the townsfolk into a choir. For nearly a year Egatz bought the people of Angel Falls together in song and composed them to create splendid melodies, this was all changed as the flapping beat of powerful wings was set to bring discord to Egatz' harmonious way of life.
Thunderclap Wings
During the night, as the waxing moon stood proudly in the night sky shedding a dim light on the grassy floor of Angel Falls, Egatz is sat next to the shimmering waters of the waterfall bathing in its coruscating tune. Suddenly a shrieking crackling cry resonates through the town defeaning Egatz forcing him to plummet to the floor. A bright blue light blinds the night sky as bolts of flashing jolting energy fills the air. Egatz, in a panic, clambers to his feet and rushes toward the village square. As he looks to the once peaceful night sky a visage of a bird comprised entirely of crackling lightning energy fills the night sky, its body the size of a house and power truly imposing. It begins flapping its thunderous wings and lets out a fiersome screech. Thunderclouds litter the sky completely obscuring the previously proud moon. Lightning pours from the sky, striking buildings and trees. Fires erupt, homes are destroyed.
Egatz, eyes wide with panic and despair wrestles himself from yielding to anguish and lets out a valiant scream. In that moment, the split-second decision to fight against despondency, something magical awoke within him. His body pulses with arcane energies and his eyes shone with a bright white light. Egatz extended his arm and spoke in hymn creating a holy artifact heralded as a weapon to repel any darkness that besets Angel Falls: Angel's Hero. With Angel's Hero in hand Egatz was successful in repelling the abhorent lightning bird that was set to destroy the entire village. Although many buildings laid in ruin not a single life was lost thanks to the efforts of Egatz and the power he invoked on that day.
An Unending Search
With his unexplainable newfound power even more mysteries presented themselves to Egatz: who was he, where did he come from, what was that power he invoked against the lightning bird, and why did he have such awesome power. Egatz felt a beckoning understand the enigma that is himself and set about travelling the realm in search of answers.
