Her parents, Juanne Hernandez, a dedicated schoolteacher, and Lucia Hernandez, a community health worker, instilled in her a strong sense of social responsibility and a passion for helping others from a young age.   Personal Life Dr. Maria Hernandez is married to Caron Mendees, an environmental engineer. Maria attended Witten High School, where she excelled academically and was actively involved in community service projects. After high school, Maria pursued her undergraduate studies at the prestigious Lumière University, majoring in Social Work. Career in Social Services Following the completion of her doctoral studies, Dr. Hernandez began her professional career as a policy analyst for the Eastern Provincial Council. In this role, she was instrumental in developing and implementing policies aimed at improving access to social services, particularly for marginalized communities.   In 3010, she was appointed as the Director of Community Development for the Eastern Provincial Council, where she oversaw numerous initiatives aimed at reducing poverty, improving access to education and healthcare, and enhancing community resilience. Her innovative approach and collaborative leadership style earned her widespread respect and recognition.   Academic and Entrepreneurial Pursuits After her tenure with the Eastern Provincial Council, Dr. Hernandez transitioned into academia, working as a professor of Social Work at Volas University. Her expertise and experience in the field were invaluable to her students, many of whom went on to become influential social workers and policy makers.   Simultaneously, she founded CommunityFirst, an agency dedicated to advising and training social workers and social service agencies across the globe. CommunityFirst became known for its cutting-edge training programs and evidence-based consulting services, helping organizations improve their effectiveness and reach.   Her work with CommunityFirst allowed her to influence social service practices worldwide. Through her agency, Dr. Hernandez provided consultancy to international NGOs, government agencies, and community organizations, helping them implement best practices in social work and community development.   Minister of Social Services In 3024, with a new administration led by Prime Minister Kylen Rossi, Dr. Maria Hernandez was appointed as the Minister of Social Services. As Minister, she is responsible for overseeing the nation’s social welfare programs, including child protection services, elderly care, social security, and community development initiatives.
