Chained Coffin

Deep within the forest of Paida before the forest turns wet, there is a clearing of trees. In a 20-foot radius circle, all wildlife dies. The grass won't grow and even weeds not dear enter the perimeter. The only thing within the circle itself is a large coffin, about twice the size of a man. It stands upright, chained closed, and chained to the ground in five places within the circle. No one is sure who put it there but there are mentions of it within the Temple of the Faceless One. No one is sure what is in it either. Rumors talk about the Faceless One's opposite, others guess that it is perhaps the body of the Faceless one.    Every full moon, the box shifts and some can claim they can hear the ghost jingle of a bell. It's soft and sounds like it comes from the base of the coffin itself. As a person approaches the coffin, they start to feel heavier and heavier with every step. Eventually, they are unable to hold themselves up and approach only by crawling. The closer you get, the closer you hear that bell jingling. You may inspect the dried, lifeless earth for a bell but none can be found yet the sound does not stop. There is an uneasiness to air that makes your lung struggle to work as if your suffocitating. The chains are ice cold and threaten to freeze your hand off if you touch them for long. The coffin is engraved in what is believed to be an old celestial or abyssal. Historians are able to translate it to roughly: "There are horrors beyond life’s edge that we do not suspect, and once in a while man’s evil prying calls them just within our range."   The Archdruid of Paida has forbidden anyone from approaching the coffin. There has been a watch set up to monitor it and anyone that gets within the perimeter is killed without hesitations.
