Halfling Folk | Wherever I May Roam

Halflings

Halflings are a small yet agile folk, which are widely spread due to their tendency to integrate with other folks. Almost any larger settlement will have at least some Halflings in it. They are incredibly social, though some look at them with contempt because of their size. A rather significant misunderstanding, as Halflings can be wicked fighters, but it does protect them from many a mandatory draft.   Halflings are flexible, which gives them the ability to quickly adjust to many a combat situation. They are popular amongst Wayfarer groups, as a Halfling can often reach where larger species can't. This allows an additional dimension of combat tactics, which many Beast species are vulnerable to.

Culture

Halflings are overly social, with most of them feeling that any event should be enjoyed with as many people as possible. This makes their parties excellent events to attend. This social nature also expresses in their tendency to form large multigenerational households. These households are very open to other folks, which prevents them from isolating themselves in communes.   The social nature of halflings, and the disadvantages of their size, mean that Halflings tend to not become solo Wayfarers or Wanderers. They are a great addition to a group, but also need a group to really function well. Plus to many of them, solo trips are just depressingly lonely.
