Prodigy

Prodigy or Synesthetes have become one of the most important human resources on the planet after the abrupt appearance of the Needle and subsequently immortal souls were seemingly forced to wander the mortal plane in search of peace.
Two things define a Prodigy in the world currently:
1. They seeming universally experience Synesthesia of some kind. (synaesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. The First pathway in all of these cases is sound, twinned with a second pathway). it is directly connected to their seeming supernatural abilities.
2. They can compel souls with their sonic talent, exerting domination over their actions through songbinding.
Although Synesthesia is generally experienced by between 2%-4% of the population, less than [Placeholder%] have the defining first pathway of sound that allows their development.
