The Eternal Vigil
The Eternal Vigil
In this myth, it is said that Penaith watches over the suffering of the world with a constant, unyielding gaze. The Eternal Vigil represents the idea that no agony, no matter how small, goes unnoticed by the goddess.
"In a time of despair, when shadows loomed heavy,
A mortal named Ilyana knelt in prayer.
Her village, ravaged by disease,
Had left her begging for mercy,
Pleading with Penaith to end their suffering."
"The goddess appeared, veiled in shadow and light,
And whispered, 'Do not seek to end pain,
For pain is the fire that forges the soul.'
With a wave of her hand,
She revealed the vastness of the world’s agony,
A vision too terrible to bear."
"Ilyana wept, her tears falling like rain,
Her heart broken by the weight of what she saw.
But as her tears fell, Penaith’s eyes filled with compassion.
In that moment, Ilyana understood—
Suffering was not to be feared,
But endured, for within it lay grace."
"From that day, Ilyana became Penaith’s most devoted follower,
Teaching that no agony goes unseen,
And to endure is to find strength.
To be seen by Penaith in suffering, they say,
Is a blessing beyond measure."
"The Eternal Vigil endures,
A mark of the goddess’ watchful care
Over all who bear the weight of the world’s pain."
