Cosmic Tree
The Cosmic Tree connects all of the realms of existence and provides a structure for them. On the very top of the tree, in its upper branches, lies Vyraj, the plane of humanity. On the very bottom, in the roots lies the Dragon Vyraj, the underworld and the realm of the dead. Between the two main realms lie the realms of gods.
The tree is also the path souls of the dead take to reach the underworld. They take form of birds and fly down the tree. There, they enter the Dragon Vyraj. For the journey to be successful the soul must have no connection to Vyraj. Because of that, all cultures practice cremation. However, souls don't stay in the underworld forever. After some time they return to Vyraj, to a womb of a pregnant woman. Of course, they are oblivious of their previous life and the time spent in the underworld.
