Additional Personality Notes
Mordred was never one to beat around the bush. When he spoke it was quick, to the point, and concise. Though early in his life he was loathe to even speak to most. As he left his homeland this changed as he became a more influential figure in history. His eyes that he had kept down for so long began to look up to observe and evaluate all those around for intent- and potential.

Lore

Mordred fled Litia in his early twenties after years being prepped by his father for service in the holy orders serving the church's militant arm. Aided by his mother, he managed to take a familial sword and a suit of chain. He earned a living performing menial labor and mercenary work - whichever he could find. In the early days he suffered at the hands of the wilderness, barely escaping with his live more times than he would have liked to remember.

Eventually he made his way to Shay, where after performing several tasks for locals he met the two Kru'zha; Vharos and Iksehn. He worked with the two of them for the sake of his wallet and rumbling belly. Together they slowly began making names for themselves- more so when they joined forces with a ranger by the name of Earalas who had been tracking a dangerous situation developing in the realm of Shay. One that the three of them had ran into once before.

A demon had been reported - and worse, confirmed to be acting in the area. The mercenary work Mordred and the Kru'zha had been performing against its forces, which had began to swell, were comprised of corpses which had begun to rise due to the demons use of red mana and had started to plague the small Kingdom. Mealdrossian agents and wizards shielded the peninsula to prevent the demonic taint from escaping Shay, and gave an ultimatum to the King. Either destroy the demon, or Shay will be destroyed. As their agents began to scour the Shay as well, one of them turned up dead at a small coastal town- as Mordred and his friends investigated the town was struck by the forces of the demon. They managed to save the inhabitants in the initial attack as well as one Galleon.

With the blessings of the Mealdrossians, they purchased the vessel and sailed to the floating Trade City of Maleth, where they bartered the artefacts they had obtained from the mages corpse. It turned out to be enough to fund several ventures in the defence of Shay of which they had needed to hurry their return. Mordred, drunk on thoughts of grandeur, chivalry, and heroism acquired his Plate mail and Sword which were forged from white-steel, and enough to equip a small order of Knightly aspirants- as well as a potion of hair growth for his then bald head.

When they returned, several outlying villages had been sacked and time was running thin. Things were moving rapidly however and the newely dubbed, Champions of Shay, moved in reaction. Quickly saving the coastal towns citizens again and escorting the refugees to the capital. It was then that a Litian Knight had been reported in the forests of Shay- one wearing a sigil that was all too familiar to the young now-Knight. It was the sigil of his house, borne on the breast of his father.

He urged his allies and the Mealdrossians, who began to take a more active role into the ongoing demon investigation, to strike. They'd take the fight to the Demon. Who they had recently tracked on the southern coast of Shay.

On the day of the attack, Mordred was quickly separated from his allies only to encounter his fathers body turned tool for the demon who proceeded to taunt the small army opposing him and his Litian retinue - who served the demon. He fought wildly to get to him as the demon retreated down the shoreline with his father into the forest. He finally tracked him down and his small group of guards. The odds were vastly against the young Knight, but somehow that day he fought as if out of legend. Casting down the Litian knights until it was Father against Son. By which point the demons army had long fled off to the other side of the shoreline. After only a few minutes of intense fighting Mordred stood over his father's corpse.
Modred came to re-unite with his allies on the beach- who had slain the demon, it was then the King Elrick of Shay, whose family had long since been slain planned a great celebration- to which he named Earalas his successor to the throne of Shay with Mordred at his side. Mordred aspired to found a knights order, training those willing and determined enough to defend their country from greater threats to his new home- Many of his recruits came from Corebarrow, a farming village where Mordred had been awarded a house of his own.

Though the peace was short, Mealdross lifted its lockdown on Shay, however due to ongoing neighbouring conflicts Shays fertile farming lands and coastal locations as a place of great strategic import to the Morewyn Civil war. Within weeks representatives of both the Holy Kingdom of Litia and the southern Kingdoms of Ixaria came to Shays throne with offerings of peace in exchange for fealty each with thinly veiled threats attached. It was clear Shay was not in a position to defend itself against such great forces and its people would only suffer under the dominion of either warring side and so a plan was made.

With its allies in Sharea offered to harbour them, Shay's people prepared to flee, their homes were already ravaged from the demon attacks and the Civil war which had wiped out several small nearby kingdoms under the 'dominion' of either Ixaria or Litia. While Mordreds companions prepared the other towns and their people to make for port Colton Mordred prepared his knights and the people of Corebarrow. Once evacuated they re-united with Iksehn and Earalas who had set traps in Denbridge to the south to delay the coming forces. Vharos had been preparing the cities defences to hold out while the people made their escape. Then they all meet up in Keradine.

Mordred lead his knights in the defence just long enough for the people to escape. Many of the knights he had trained lost their lives and he and his surviving knights joined with the other survivors and escape the city through its old under-tunnels linking to the port town of Luttin to the north. It was there they took a small yet swift vessel and hurried along the coast to the last ship sitting in the Port Colton harbour, which was ready to make its way to Sharea. Unfortunately while Litian forces had attacked Keradine, Ixarian forces had caught wind of the plan and had pushed past the Colton defences leaving the last of its defending forces to defend the dock while the the Champions boarded the escape vessel with the king. It was in this transition that the king took a cross-bow bolt to the chest. Falling in Iksehns arms and causing Mordred to force her to leave the kings body behind in the chaos.

It was during the escape oversea that their vessal was then attacked by a Ixarian Mounted Wyvern, and though they fended it off their ship was forced off course and with half a dead crew heading into a storm where the ship was lost- crew and debris scattered across the western coast of an unexplored small island, now known as Virania. at first their only goal was to survive, they did not know where they were as a strange mist surrounded the isle- thinking themselves trapped they dug themselves a well and what was a camp soon over time became a small village. A few months later the mists had cleared thanks to the intervention of Iksehns communication with the Dragon Shaiya who had been drawn to the isle.

It was then they found out that the isle was just north of Sharea and after building a small ship Iksehn ventured into Sharea to find allies. Over time Shayans who had survived joined them at the isle as well as new friends from Sharea. Mordred found himself working in the mines they had set up for a good few months while Iksehn was away and when people came to the isle he joined them in construction, turning their little village into a town - and that town soon needed a guard. Talia Resh, Captain of the Keradine Militia soon set up guard along side Mordred for the isle for the most part they kept the peace- though Mordred often ventured into the mines with his newly trained militia to clear it of various threats as it expanded- following a great chain of Mana-crystal-deposits.

In time Iksehn, through strange magics, joined as one with the Dragon Shaiya and with their collective peoples and formed the first 'Virantis' a kingdom of its own to defy the forceful order of other nations and with goals to eventually liberate Shay- This was where Mordred grew under the Dragon Queens new nation to become one of the first Virantian Generals, along side Murin Ungarks. The new Virantian army soon found itself defending its shores from Litian and Ixarian attackers from oversea's now seeking to expand their reach to their new enemies. Thus the Morewyn Civil war became a war of three fronts.

Mordred sat as the defensive general of his new home, while Murin lead the offensive. After surviving the first initial seige from Litia's fleet the Virantians saw hope and Mordred sealed his bond with Talia in Marriage.

In time he fathered three children two daughters and a son. he fought during the second siege from Litia which had the Dragon Queen and Vharos sacrifice themselves to keep back the Litians Might, he said goodbye to his friend Earalas who returned to Shay to start a counter-movement against the Litians.

In the final siege of Virania, where the first Virantis fell Mordred was marked as one on several Virantian heroes who died valiantly protecting their home against an impossible foe. As the Virania port fell he stood his ground until the last Virantian had fallen back or fallen still, retreating from the cannon fire at the port he defended the town from its invaders, giving his family and many other Virantians time to escape to the mines or to the valley beyond its keep. Mordred stood proudly and firmly at the gates of Viranias castle, the last defence to the valley with many men he had trained and fought along side. It is said he slew at least one hundred Litian soldiers, though the number was likely an exaggeration. It was a Litian Knight by the name of Aeden Turral who stopped his men. Seeing Mordred in his weakened state and as the last of his men, challenged him to a duel rather than a slaughter. As it was more time to delay Mordred accepted. Though he landed a few blows he was fatigued and the Litian Knight plunged a blade into the mans chest seemingly with enough respect to lower Mordred to the ground and order his men not to trample the body as they laid siege to the fort beyond.

Survived by his wife and children, his daughters married into Virantian nobility and his son went to Shay alongside Talia and rebuilt an order of Shayan knights whose creed was to defend the innocent of the realm, in Memoria of Mordred.
