Bloodline Trees

Bloodline Trees are a special kind of tree magically created by a combination of nature and blood magic used to track the lineage of a specific bloodline. These trees have been popular among the wealthiest and most powerful families in Vylderaine ever since The Forgotten Age when entire branches of their lineage were forgotten along with the rest of the knowledge of that age. Each family with a Tree maintains the magic in their own way but it always involves blood magic and due to the negative opinion on arcane blood magic, the true nature of these trees are kept secret from the general public. The trees themselves have bark with a pattern that matches musculature in a body and bright green leaves with red variegations that look like blood vessels. Each branch represents a literal branching of the lineage and each leaf represents a single member of the bloodline. The tree can be used as a vessel for a variety of magic concerning the bloodline assigned to the tree. The most common use for the tree is tracking the lineage of each member of the bloodline. When someone is touching the tree, as long as they know a single member of the bloodline as a starting point, they can imagine an individual of that bloodline as see their relation. This relation is shown by the leaves turning a bright red connecting each person of the lineage from the starting point in the bloodline all the way to the desired person. The face of the desired person then shows in the the bark of the trunk of the tree.
