PW3 - April Showers

General Summary

You met Zaluoh and the rest of his Guerillas during over a week of persistant rain. As you trained in new abilities, you learned more about the situation in Chilika Swamp and delt with flooding. Due to Sandy's quick thinking, you narrowly avoided a watery trap set by the Deviltongue Brutes.

The Invasion

Senlimas is being invaded by the Deviltongue Brutes, who are based in and were hired by Rohiz for the purpose. They are accompanied by Leonin priests in the employ of the city’s Rakshasa royal family and led by a prince and princess named Bhāsarkana and Suparsvi. Zaluoh suspects that they have access to scrying because they always seem to know where he and the other Guerillas are. Zaluoh's goal is to rid the swamp of the invaders before returning to Orstail to liberate it, or at least reunite Bloodletter and his fellow hunters with their families.

Tana

The Party's first full day in the camp was Tana's re-birthday, the anniversary of the day she was revived by Dionysus after her dead body was thrown into the Washujin Channel. She also received a letter from Az Boldfinger, a contact of hers in Celonar.

Gwynnestri

Zaluoh recognized the university colors of Gwynnestri's clothes and revealed that he also studied at the University in Ramanthas. He can no longer return there safely due to his status as a resistance fighter, so he said his ability to get certain magical supplies was limited. Specifically, he wanted to have access to a crystal ball so he can scry, which is something that could be found at the University.

Nyssa

While she's out in the forest, The Anchored appeared to Nyssa and granted her truesight, as well as the ability to see into the Shadowfell. She revealed the point of the seeds that Nyssa has been planting: these create plants in the Shadowfell that drain energy from the mortal plane to survive. She further explained that all life in the Shadowfell has this sort of parasitic relationship.

The Wave

After it was pointed out that the stream near the camp had slowed before the rain, Sandy correctly deduced that the Deviltongue Brutes had built a temporary dam at a small nearby lake to create a sudden flood. The Party and Zaluoh's Guerillas managed to move almost all their supplies up to high ground before the wave came.
