Port Tarrajon

Bridges and raised roads lead your eyes and feet to the bustling city before you. Built up from the marshy land around it rises Port Tarrajon. Red stone walls snake around the tall gray walls of the city buildings. Trees loom over the walls and buildings while ferns and bushes snake out of cracks breaking up the straight edges of the city and give into a comfortable chaos. Ships sail in and out of the open waters giving the sense that this is no sleepy town.

Government

Like all of Vraccus this city falls under a meritocracy. The king or queen has the final say and determines all laws, but generally delegates the region to an Archduke who then in turn delegates even minor details to a Duke or Duchess who overlooks the city in a more personal level. The local Duke or Duchess has a group of local nobles who assist, enforce and oversee the Duke's or Duchesses will and commands. These are archcounts who finally each have a legion of counts who are the at the bottom of the ladder but still have a greater deal of power than any average person. They tend to be connected nobles or people of import within the burrows and nitches of society.

Defences

A heavy presence of guards are located here as a military training camp is located just north of the city. Soldiers, knights and the like frequent the city and ensure the roads to and from are clear for easy military maneuvering. The city is also bordered by a wall to prevent anything besides a siege from becoming a serious threat. In addition the port is home to a large portion of the navy thanks to it's northern position and defense needs.

Industry & Trade

Tarrajon is the #1 ship producer within Vraccus, which is in high demand as most of Vraccuseans are located near water. Trade is another massive business within the city walls as goods pass between hands and the need to physically move all those goods. Everything else makes the before mentioned trades more effective or otherwise is an offshoot from them. Smaller businesses indeed do exist here, but they pail in comparison to the ship building and trade industry.

Infrastructure

One of the largest businesses within Port Tarrajon is the ship building trade. Several ship builders dot the shore line within and around the city. Additionally the packaging and transportation trade is booming from Coopers, crate builders, strong arms, deck hands and everything in-between to aid and assist in transporting goods into and out of the port. Due to the location of the city trades such as herbalism, forestry, stone cutting and fishing all have a place to flourish within and around the city walls.
