Venomspire, The Hollowfang
Venomspire, the Hollow Fang
A cursed voidstaff built from warped bones and eldritch relics. Though its physical form is deceptively elegant, its true power lies in the venom and void essence it channels.
Visual Description (Based on Image):
- The staff’s body is dark and twisted, wrapped in void-infused sinew and etched with eldritch runes.
- Blackened leather bands spiral up its length, pulsing faintly with ethereal blue light, giving it a cursed glow.
- The head of the staff features a golden cap, inscribed with arcane sigils, holding a pale voidstone orb at its core — the focus for venom magic and essence absorption.
- Despite its skeletal origins, the staff feels cold and unnaturally smooth, as though it were shaped by something not of this world.
Updated Properties & Effects:
Component | Source / Material | Effect |
---|---|---|
Core Shaft | Warped Bone + Void-Infused Bones | Lightweight, flexible, but not built for blocking or melee defense. |
Fang Components | Blackened Fang, Venom-Coated Fang | Enables stacking poison effects and adds venomous bleed. |
Head & Focus | Splintered Eldritch Horn + Eldritch Essence Fragment | Focuses void spells and acts as a soul anchor. |
Runes | 2 Cursed Runes | Apply debilitating afflictions with every cast. |
Infused Stones | Venom Catalyst, Voidheart Shard | Boosts poison intensity and lets spells ignore resistances. |
Abilities
- Passive Aura: Emits a sickly shimmer, reducing light around the wielder but revealing ethereal creatures.
- Basic Cast: Fires a void-poison bolt, dealing immediate poison (1d4) and (1d4) damage.(ignoring non-magical armor)
- Charged Release: Builds up for 2 rounds, then unleashes a cone of void-venom, afflicting enemies with hallucination (1d4 poison).
- Soul Drain (On Kill): after defeating a foe you are immobile for one turn , granting temporary spell damage increase and regenerating one spell slot.
Weaknesses
- Physical defense is minimal; if the user is struck while casting, concentration can be easily broken, increading recieved damage by 2.
- The more essence stored(amount of basic casts stored), the more unstable the staff becomes — eventually whispering to the wielder and inviting corruption.
