Six Enlightenments

Origin of the Six Enlightenments

When Tors wrote the Holy Doctrine, he received what he dubbed "enlightenment" from Neie himself. These enlightenments were recorded by his hand, though he did not write them; they were written in a script understood by all but no script at the same time. None can fail to read it, but all will fail to truly understand it lest they learn to truly take light into their hearts with purity and utmost faith. There were six enlightenments, and only through six enlightenments may believers follow the path of Tors and ascend through enlightenment as one of Neie's chosen.

First Enlightenment

"Children, born in the image of the godlings, are the truest reflection of my light. Protect them with unwavering care, nurture them with the wisdom of the ages, and let them wander freely in the meadows of their youth. Do not seek to bend their paths to your will, for it is the light that shall guide them, even when they stray into the shadows. Their purity, untouched by the weight of your world, must remain a beacon, unspoiled by the hands of those who claim to know better."

Second Enlightenment

"As the light nurtures all life, so too must you nurture the world around you. In every soul lies a spark of the divine, and it is your duty to see that light kindled in others as it burns in you. Cherish the life around you, for each being—be it beast, man, or the smallest creature of the earth—carries a purpose within my grand design. Let no blade fall unjustly, nor harm be done without need. Seek balance in all things, for where life thrives, so does the harmony of creation. In tending to the world, you tend to me."

Third Enlightenment

"Seek always the light of knowledge, for in ignorance lies the shadow that breeds despair. To live in darkness is to deny the spark of creation I have placed within you. Let the pursuit of truth and understanding be the flame that guides your path, for in knowledge there is freedom, and in wisdom there is peace. Blind faith without reason dims the light, but wisdom tempered with devotion brightens the soul."

Fourth Enlightenment

"As the dawn rises and the stars retreat, know that light must wane as it must wax. The brightest light casts the darkest shadow, and within that shadow, truth hides. Do not fear the dark, for it is the twin to the light I give. Embrace the dance of both, for in their meeting lies the heart of all things."

Fifth Enlightenment

"In the mirror of the heavens, you will see only a reflection of what you bring. The light of the stars is not their own, nor is your light yours alone. You are but a vessel, a reflection, and the radiance you hold within is borrowed from a greater flame. But beware: that which is reflected can deceive, and only by knowing your own shadow can you know your true light."

Sixth Enlightenment

"To ascend the light, you must descend into the void. In the absence of all, I remain. In the silence where no voice speaks, I am heard. When all light is extinguished, and you stand alone in the endless night, it is there you will find my flame still burns. But beware, for only those with unwavering faith may step into the abyss and rise again, for many are those who fall into shadow and are lost. Fear not the void, for it is only in the dark that the stars are born."
