Volunholm

A world once nearly devoid of anything but sand, now a land of barren wastes, lush jungles, ancient forests, frozen tundra and snowy mountains, Volunholm is a world of unorthodox magic, savage monstrosities, and hardy civilizations.   Volunholm is named so from a great battle of extra-dimensional deities long ago. One of the greatest warriors in this struggle, Volun, removed his helmet in the heat of battle to shield the innocent people wandering the wastes of a barren planet. After removing his helmet, however, a blade the size a star, wielded by his enemy, Anuria, pierced his chest. As he fell back into the great abyss, his blood splattered the planet, giving rise to lush forests, vast pools that became the oceans, and sprawling plains. The Elven wanderers that came in contact with his raw blood became the Vol, a race of tall, freakishly strong, yet generally kind-hearted warriors with incredibly tough skin, thick, curved white horns, and short, pale blue, grey, or white fur.   As he fell, his hand smashed into the planet, causing mountains to burst forth from the ground and into the heavens, one so large is erupted into Anuria's thigh. Her blood poured forth down the mountain, scorching and obliterating everything in it's path, burning parts of the wasteland black. Massive volcanoes spewed out the blood of the planet and of Anuria, and black ashlands formed around them. Any living thing that touched her blood was twisted and warped into something unnatural, creating the monstrous race of Anir. Not as striking in height as some of the Vol, the Anir are viciously strong, with thick, sinewy limbs, short, dark, hard claws and horns, and tough black, brown, or red skin.   The Earthborn Dwarves, weak but intelligent Humans, bull-like Minos, and brutish Orcs were created by the eventual intermingling of these two races with themselves and the native Elves.
