Coldrun

Coldrun is a small town in the Nordfold region of Gwildan. It is located on the banks of the Oerach River and on the edge of the Blue Forest. It also serves as a supply point for Westkeep (the nearest major Northguard garrison). It is also the home of Conrad Marston and Alyson Marston, both of which went on to have distinguished service in the Northguard.

Government

Coldrun is governed by a mayor who is appointed by the town council. The current Mayor is Evrawg Goedwig, the former owner of the Axe and Saw company

Defences

Coldrun doesn't have any major defences. It does have a town militia, but no standing force. The lumber camps will often hire mercenaries to protect their camps from wild animal attack.

Industry & Trade

Coldrun is a mostly agrarian settlement, known for its hops, barley, wheat, and vegetables. It also it is known for the local lumber guild who use the town as a base for their lumber camps deeper in the Blue Forest.

Guilds and Factions

The Axe and Saw Company is the prominent guild in the area. They work in the Blue Forest harvesting lumber for a good portion of the kingdom.

History

Coldrun originally was founded as a lumber camp after the Great Orc War, but it eventually grew into the small village that is known today.

Architecture

The majority of Coldrun's buildings are made in the timber-framed style with thatched roofs. The mercantile buildings are also built as timber framed but the tend to have shingles and cobblestone floors.

Geography

Coldrun is known for it's close proximity to the Blue Forest, and being located along the Oerach River, which provides plenty of fertile land for agriculture.

Natural Resources

Coldrun's main export is hops and lumber to the rest of Gwildan.
