Chapter XIII: The Zombies are a Metaphor

General Summary

• Before he passed out, Ambrose saw an elven or half-elven woman with scarlet eyes, and miles and miles of snow
• Daenerys banishes the gauntlet and saves Henry
• Henry senses a strong destructive influence on Ambrose
• Ambrose wakes up and explains that he was in the Impossible Room with the Watcher, Master Ü, Dio, and Dia

1. They said that Ambrose should be dead, and Dia made a deal with him to bring him back in exchange for the use of his arm for one minute in the future
2. A dark black diamond has appeared on the back of Ambrose's left hand; it feels a little cold to the touch and appears to be slightly indented

• Aisa tries to walk on, but runs into another wall
• Ambrose tries to read the history of the spear; he learns how to use it and sees it floating in the Void
• Henry leads us through the illusory walls; we spot a guard turning a corner that we couldn't see through the invisible walls and we follow him
• We run into some guards and fight them; after we kill them, Kai resurrect them as revenants

1. Henry and Daenerys kill them immediately after we take a short rest

• Kai argues with Henry and Daenerys about the ethics of raising the dead, and the two groups separate

1. Yuki and Ambrose soothe Kai and reassure them they're on their side
2. Daenerys holds Henry as he breaks down over what happened to his family
3. Aisa watches, confused and impatient

• Afterwards, Henry and Kai reach an agreement and make up
• We move on, much to Aisa's relief
• Almost immediately, we run into another guard and kill him
