The Old Ones

Said to be the oldest of the deities, The Old Ones are revered by several of the races that inhabit Vrila-Shal and are said to be the creators of all, they once made their children in many forms in separate planes of existence. They nurtured and guided them allowing their creations to grow but all that peace was not meant to be forever. The Old Ones came together and decided they wanted to test their creations - for what reason we can only speculate but the destruction and change it caused have never before been seen since. 
As their they have been written and speculated about so much it has become hard to tell whats tale and whats truth but the oldest writings tell us that The Old Ones were some of the first if not perhaps the first beings to exist. Thought, theme and concept given physical and conscience form. At such an early time there were no planes of existence. Whatever was. Simply was. Only with the passage of time were the Old Ones able to act. Their first actions where that to create - a instinctive act and one that changed the very fabric of being.
