Dastania

Dastania (dah-stahn-e-uh) is a massive city built in the center of The Eye of Catherine, a lake in The Ishtar Consortium of Amerish. Thus, it can only be reached via, boat, ship, flying, or magic. While the city swears fealty to The Ishtar Consortium, other than taxes, it is entirely independent of outside governments, looking over its people itself. It is most famous for, outside of its location, cathedrals to both Arun and Naru and a large asylum for victims of psychic attacks and sufferers of curses and diseases of the mind. Due to its asylum and university, Dastania is often considered the sister city of Praha.

Geography

Dastania is a city settled in the Zeemland in the middle of a lake known as The Eye of Catherine. While there are questions as to where the water’s source, the lake drains along the northeast Słotałka River towards Catherine’s Coast.

Government

Dastania is a barony of Istenkardja overseen from Dastan Castle.

Religion

The city hosts a wide array of religions with formal cathedrals built to honor night and day, fighters in the bloodwater arena praising Donaru and Dregnu, actors of Dastania Theater praising Agere, and magic users of The Wizard’s College giving thanks to Perkunas.

Transportation

Daily ferries usher people from the city to the lake’s edge and back. Many nobles have private vessels to make this trip at their leisure. These trips can be made at any time of day, assuming the attention of the vessel’s captain is garnered as the four lighthouses illuminate the city after dark.
