Access and Security

At Vikan Academy, access is more than privilege—it’s identity. Every individual is issued a personalized ID badge encoded with biometric data, clearance levels, and essential permissions. These IDs govern navigation, unlock resources, and interface directly with the Vikan intranet—a closed-loop digital ecosystem only accessible within campus grounds.

Behind the scenes, each ID is also embedded with a covert tracking chip, allowing the academy’s AI governance system to monitor movement and behavior. This tracking feature is kept confidential from students and most staff and is primarily used for security protocols, incident investigations, and monitoring Syndicate students as needed. Only authorized personnel have access to this data.

Each ID acts as a single point of integration for movement, surveillance, digital services, and financial transactions. It determines not just where you can go—but when, how long, and under what conditions.

Visitor Badges

Visitors must surrender all personal electronics upon entry. In return, they receive a temporary smart badge embedded with passive tracking and a time-sensitive access key. This badge grants limited, chaperoned access to:

• 1st Floor Cafeteria
• Vance Hall Entrance Exam Testing Room

Any attempt to bypass assigned areas triggers immediate lockdown and results in removal and/or long-term visitation bans.

Faculty & Staff ID Cards

Issued to all employees, staff IDs function as multifunctional, clearance-based keys and digital wallets.
Core Capabilities:

• Financial management (payroll deposits and transactions)
• Health data and medical record access
• Internal Vikan intranet login
• Access to workspaces, staff housing, and affiliated discounts
• Clearance-specific area entry

Cards are deactivated and collected upon resignation, termination, or retirement.

Student ID Cards

Student IDs are multifunctional, integrating digital identity, financial management, academic data, and campus access into a single device.
Core Capabilities:

• Digital wallet for meals, shuttle fare, textbooks, and campus purchases
• Health record access
• Real-time academic rank and class schedules
• Vikan intranet login
• Dormitory and classroom entry

Note: The location tracking function embedded in student IDs is strictly confidential and is not disclosed to students or most staff. This feature is primarily used for security monitoring, incident investigations, and tracking Syndicate students as needed. Only authorized security personnel can access this data.

Vikan Intranet Access

All ID holders—students and staff—use their credentials to interface with the Vikan intranet, a secure internal network exclusive to on-campus users. It hosts academic dashboards, communication tools, research portals, and internal reports. Intranet access is monitored by the academy’s AI governance system and remains active year-round for enrolled students and employed faculty.
