    Fall of Val'thanis
    Era beginning/end

The High elves ruled over all of Nidira with an Iron fist for nigh on 1000 years during the Age of of the Night Mother. All other races were lesser in the caste system, all except for the High Elves themselves. Although it took over 200 years of battles and conflict the lesser races rose up and toppled the Val'thanis Empire carving out new borders and leaving Val'thanis in shambles the once near omnipotent Empire now barely hanging on by a thread. Although free from their shackles the lesser races were not long without a new order as they begin to sift through the ashes and soon creating their own Empire.   Thus Ending the Age of the Night Mother and Beginning the Age of the Law Bearer.

    A New Empire Rises
    Founding

Not more than 4 years after the war of succession with the Val'thanis Empire, a new Empire began to form. With Val'thanis now pushed to the southern edge of Nidira more than half the continent was free for the taking. However, it was still heavily sought after, by all those who had broken free from the grip of Val'thanis. Although there were many candidates to rule over the rest of Nidira one man stood above the rest. He was a man of honor and great strength. Ivan Hekkeran, rose above the rest as a warrior, a politician and an Emperor. It wasn't Until 5 ALB that he was finally able to take control and found his new Hekkeran Empire.

    Val'thanis in Ashes
    Founding

As the war with the common folk came to an end, Val'thanis was nought but ashes. Quick to secure what power and land they had left, the Empire of Val'thanis began to rebuild their forces and their lands. As those who held power came together they declared the disbandment of the Val'thanis Empire and the Founding of The Val'thanis Kingdom. Despite being pushed to the very edge of Nidira the High Elf Kingdom was lucky enough to still have control of the portion of Nidira that had access to the Fae Wild and its many Fae Gates. This allowed them to bolster their forces more and quickly recuperate the heavy losses they had incurred.    While most of the people they ruled over had left the area the Wood Elves could not leave their homes in the forest for it was everything to them. Because of this the ire of Val'thanis fell heaviest on them.

The Church of the Cardinal Triad
    Religious event

Riding on the heels of the Founding of the Hekkeran Empire, Ruijerd Solace Val Desmir took it upon himself to initiate a new religious sect. This religious organization was meant to appeal to all the people within the empire, calling for worship of the three Cardinal Deities in equal proportion. For this the church was branded The Church of the Cardinal Triad . Of course to ensure that the sect would run smoothly there would need to be a head of this church a Holy See, and who better to take that mantle than Ruijerd Solace Val Desmir himself. So at that moment in the El-Makath City Square Ruijerd named himself The Holy See of the Church of the Cardinal Triad.   No one objected to this as Ruijerd was a man of sound mind and body and was a close friend of the newly crowned Emperor. This was a momentous event in the history of Nidira and would be bring many more moments into the alms of history.

It took a few years for the residual enmity to calm down allowing for more diplomatic relations to form between the Val'thanis Kingdom and the Hekkeran Empire. Tired of war and disdain both nations came together to sign The Silvervine Treaty. This document would lead to many years of peace in Nidira, and as a result both nations began to flourish. However, many of the common folk in both nations were not happy about the treaty as it undermined everything the people went through to end Val'thanis. As well as allowed Val'thanis to continue to rule with the same iron fist albeit on a smaller scale.

    Sealing the Fae Gates
    Metaphysical / Paranormal event

In the year 48 of the Age of the Law Bearer The Kingdom of Melgia was in a constant struggle with the Fae Wild. As the lands that the Kingdom ruled over were so in tune with the Fae Plane that portals would exist almost permanently within its borders. Now most of those outside of the Kingdom might assume, with the ruling populace of Melgia as well as most of the citizens being of Fae descent, that these Fae Gates would be welcome and might also connect the peoples together. However, it is quite the opposite for along with the beauty of the Fae so does come the monstrosity from within. Not all Fae are friendly, quite the opposite actually.   Most Fae have an ulterior motive and when it comes to wreaking havoc on a plane that is not their own it is quite literally open season. So it is at this time that the Queen declared that the Gates be closed permanently only able to be opened by a spell known only to the Queen herself. The armies of Melgia began to march from one Fae Gate to the next closing them one by one. After an arduous 3 month journey all the Gates were sealed.   Now this would not completely negate travel to and from the Fae Wild it would only effect mass transport and travel between the two planes as the more common rifts between the Prime Material and the Fae would still exist in the forms of mushroom rings and the like.

The Holy See had four children and while they were not all interested in taking his place two of them were not only that but a few of the higher ups in the church also wanted to try for the position as well.   This led to a political war between those who wanted the seat of the Holy See for their own. This war lasted only a year where at the end only two candidates remained viable for the position The Holy See's only Daughter Evelyn Solace Tharoh Desmir beat out her younger brother for the seat and at the age of 46 was named the new Holy See of the Church of the Law Bearer and the Ruler of the Theocracy.

After the ordainment of Evelyn Desmir, she began what would be called the Holy Cleansing. This involved every member of the church setting off within the borders of the Theocracy. They had a single mission, which was to find and route out all those who were not aligned with their faith. If you did not worship the Law Bearer exclusively then you would not be allowed to live within the borders of the Theocracy. It was this event that would lead to a mass exodus of refugees to the Empire who accepted them with open arms.   Although the goal was to remove the unfaithful from the country, many of the churches soldiers and priests took things too far. Many would beat and sometimes kill non believers if there was any resistance. This made the Theocracy's message all the clearer.   This exodus took place over a two year period and in that time the death toll is estimated to be over 20,000 unfaithful.   Shortly after this event, accounts of undead began to rise among the settlements and travelers within the Theocracy.

    The 7 Year Frost
    Geological / environmental event

Not long after the Holy Cleansing the Felleveign Theocracy was met with a natural disaster that would decimate the country for the duration and long after. The 7 Year Frost came almost out of nowhere, and it wreaked havoc across the northern countryside. This long and lasting winter ruined crops, forced families in doors for weeks at a time and seemed as though it would never come to an end.   It didn't help that during this time all the Holy See and the church could offer was their prayers. Sometimes offering less than that, instead demanding extra tithes in the form of money and what food the citizenry had in their possession. The Theocracy's economy was crumbling and their people where dying out. The lives lost during the Frost were incalculable, not only dying from the cold but also succumbing to mass hysteria and violence.   Some hungry people were even forced to cannibalism, parents sacrificing themselves to make sure their children could survive that much longer. It was a dark time in the Theocracy's history, and despite the conflicts between the Theocracy and the Empire they still offered aid to their enemy in their time of need. However, the Theocracy turned them down unwilling to take the hand of the Empire they so recently succeeded from.

Brandon had been groomed since childhood by the clergy to take over for his mother, and though he did not enjoy the prospect of ruling the Theocracy he did as he was told and took up the mantle.   Brandon's time as the Holy See consisted of many changes and reforms that favored the Church and its rule. By the time he had reached his 40's the Theocracy was almost completely controlled by the upper clergy of the church and Brandon was more of a figurehead.   It was in 113 ALB that Brandon had decided that he would not be this hollow monarch any longer, and began making moves to cut out the upper clergy. This however would be his downfall, as the moment he started making moves against the church, he was assassinated in his sleep. The Battle at Alban Pass
    Military action

The Battle at Alban Pass was a bloody affair between the Felleveign Theocracy and The Hekkeran Empire. It was in summary a border dispute but ended up going far beyond that. The Empire's Army was led by Emperor Gelden Von Mictner Hyltannis Reladon III and it was here that he earned the name The Bloody Emperor. As the Theocracy stormed past the border to take Alban Pass and the nearby settlements as their own the Emperor had only this to say "A kingdom is her people, and I am its ruler. So to defile my people is to defile the equivalent of the very throne I sit upon."   This would mark the beginning of an almost 5 month long war between the two nations. There were heavy losses on both sides as a total of 30,000 soldiers were killed in the ensuing combat. However, Emperor Reladon was successful in repelling the Theocracy's advances ultimately winning the war. It was after this moment that The Bloody Emperor started taking many leaps and bounds toward securing peaceful relations with the surrounding nations in hopes of avoiding such bloodshed again.
