The Pillars of Dawn

The Pillars of Dawn are three revered divine figures in the pantheon of Veth’Arden, considered champions and avatars of the Law Bearer, also known as the Gilded King. Each of the Pillars represents a fundamental aspect of the Law Bearer’s doctrine—Light, Creation, and Protection—and they serve as the physical and spiritual extension of his divine will. They are unified in their mission to uphold justice, order, and righteousness, and are known as:   Aurelius, The Sun Knight (The Pillar of Light) Domain: Valor, Sunlight, Righteousness, Hope   Appearance: Clad in gleaming brass armor adorned with solar motifs; wields Solblade, a blazing sword of celestial fire.   Role: Bringer of light and moral clarity. He is the champion of courage, illuminating darkness both literal and metaphorical. A beacon for paladins and warriors of justice.   Connection to the Law Bearer: Directly born of the first dawn after the sun's creation. Acts as the Law Bearer's sword and shield in the mortal world.   Symbols: The blazing sun, a flaming sword, a halo of light.   Tenets: Illuminate darkness, protect the innocent, inspire valor, uphold righteousness, and foster unity.   Ferrum, The Smith (The Pillar of Creation) Domain: Craftsmanship, Fire, Industry, Innovation   Appearance: A massive figure of bronze, with eyes of molten metal and hair like burning embers.   Role: The master craftsman and divine artisan. Patron of forges, builders, and inventors. His flame is both destructive and creative.   Connection to the Law Bearer: Created by the Law Bearer to forge his divine weapons and armor. Maintains order through the works of his hands and the tools he provides mortals.   Symbols: Hammer and anvil, stylized flame, forge, and cog.   Tenets: Master your craft, build with purpose, innovate with integrity, and endure through the fires of adversity.   Valora, The Guardian (The Pillar of Protection) Domain: Protection, Sacrifice, Duty, Honor   Appearance: A noble shieldmaiden with a radiant shield and spear, clad in practical yet adorned armor.   Role: Protector of the innocent and the embodiment of selfless guardianship. Her followers are defenders, sentinels, and those who stand between danger and the vulnerable.   Connection to the Law Bearer: Once a mortal who gave her life for others, she was elevated to divinity by the Law Bearer himself as the ideal of protection and duty.   Symbols: Shield and spear, interwoven branches, the Guardian’s Knot.   Tenets: Protect the vulnerable, honor your oaths, sacrifice for the greater good, and guard the balance with wisdom and strength.   Their Unified Role   Together, the Three Pillars of Dawn act as saint-like exemplars within the Church of the Divine Accord and other sects devoted to the Law Bearer. They guide mortals in how to live justly, build meaningfully, and guard selflessly. Temples to the Law Bearer often include chapels or shrines to each of the Pillars, and many of their rituals, festivals, and knightly orders derive inspiration from these divine figures.   In a world where justice can be twisted and order abused (as seen in the Felle Veign Theocracy), the Pillars serve as uncorrupted ideals, anchoring worshippers to the true teachings of the Law Bearer: compassionate justice, enlightened order, and courageous protection
