Naiz Achurr

Captain Naiz Achurr (a.k.a. "Cutlass")

Brief Overview   Naiz Achurr is a pirate lord unlike any other, more renowned for his flamboyant theatrics and devil-may-care attitude than his actual piracy. A Lupin of the Jackal subrace, he exudes charm, wit, and a near-constant air of mischief, often using his influence for seduction and entertainment rather than expanding his wealth.   However, beneath his roguish persona and playboy antics, Naiz is a deadly swordsman of nearly unparalleled skill. His reputation skyrocketed when he singlehandedly defeated every pirate hunter sent after him, often making a grand spectacle of these duels in public settings. Though many see him as a showman first and a pirate second, his combat prowess, agility, and strategic mind have secured him a seat among the Black Council—though some suspect it is his ability to manipulate others rather than outright strength that keeps him there.   Unlike most pirate lords, Naiz does not rely on brute force or naval superiority. His crew, the Danse Macabre, is one of the most coordinated boarding forces in Reaper’s Port, specializing in acrobatics, agility, and deception. His fleet is small but deceptively fast and unpredictable, striking from unexpected angles and disappearing before retaliation.

Personal history

Naiz was born into a wealthy family of merchants and performers in the Al-Muru Daxin Contingent, raised between the bustling trade ports and the extravagant courts of influential figures. From a young age, he was trained in both swordplay and performance, often competing in dueling tournaments where he honed his flair for the dramatic.   While his family intended for him to become a merchant diplomat, Naiz was more interested in adventure, seduction, and the thrill of the fight. By the time he was 16, he had abandoned his inheritance and taken to the seas, challenging notable swordsmen and outmaneuvering bounty hunters who sought to return him home. By 20, he had already earned a reputation as a legendary duelist, defeating renowned pirate hunters, naval officers, and rival captains alike in duels that often left crowds in awe.   By 22, Naiz had officially founded The Danse Macabre, a crew of former fencers, performers, and thrill-seekers who shared his love for agility and spectacle. His rise to the Black Council was seen as unorthodox—many assumed he was too young or too reckless—but his political cunning and sheer skill with a blade ensured he could not be ignored.   Despite his reputation for charming nobles and seducing their daughters, those who underestimate Naiz soon realize their mistake when they find themselves at the point of his blade.
