Lothar Stone

Captain Lothar Stone (a.k.a. "The Quiet Storm")

Brief Overview   Lothar Stone did not seek out piracy, nor did he crave the power and infamy that came with being a pirate lord. He became one out of necessity, protecting those he loved from the cruelty of the sea’s worst elements. Each battle he fought was not for plunder or personal gain but to eliminate those who sought to harm his people. Unfortunately for him, he was excellent at it. His reputation grew not from boastful tales but from the grim reality that when Lothar stood against an enemy, they rarely stood for long.   A deeply spiritual man, he follows Fulmentas, the Lord of Storms, believing in the delicate balance between destruction and mercy. Though imposing in size, he carries himself with a quiet serenity, rarely speaking unless his words carry true weight. His influence within the Black Council does not stem from ambition, but from the respect he commands—when Lothar speaks, others listen.   Lothar Stone is a pirate lord of necessity, not ambition. He does not revel in conquest nor seek dominion over others. His leadership is built upon respect, discipline, and unwavering principle. Though many fear his strength, those who know him understand that he is not the storm itself—he is the moment of calm before its wrath.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Lothar Stone was born into a clan of seafarers and warriors in the harsh, frozen lands of Falengaht, where survival depended on strength, skill, and an unshakable bond with the sea., raised with a deep reverence for the sea and its unpredictable nature. His people were simple folk—fishermen, traders, and priests of Fulmentas. He was taught from a young age that the sea provides but also takes, and that balance must always be honored.   His peaceful life was shattered when slavers raided his home, tearing his family apart and reducing his village to smoldering ruins. Lothar, barely sixteen, survived and took to the sea with nothing but his faith and an old cutlass. He swore that he would never allow such cruelty to happen again.   Through years of hardship, Lothar carved his path, taking work as a deckhand, mercenary, and eventually first mate to a well-respected smuggler. Though he abhorred senseless violence, he had a natural talent for warfare, and when his captain was betrayed, it was Lothar who led the counterattack, personally cutting down the mutineers and reclaiming the ship.   From that moment on, he was no mere sailor—he was a force of reckoning.   By the time he claimed the Silent Gale, he had built a reputation as a protector of those who could not protect themselves. Over time, his victories against slavers, corrupt merchants, and rival pirate factions solidified his presence within Reaper’s Port, eventually leading him to the Black Council.
