El-Makath (El - Ma - Kath)
El-Makath is a stunning Grecian-style Palatial City that is colloquially known as the Shining City. Located on the eastern shore of the Gydra Mere, in the heart of the Hekkeran Empire, the city boasts a population of around 160,000 people. The city's impressive palatial walls are decorated with silver and gold, casting a mesmerizing light of hope across the city and the people within. The Gydra Mere adds to the beauty and ambience of the city, with its clear, almost crystalline waters reflecting the sunlight and casting a magical glow over the surrounding area.
The city is surrounded by walls on all sides, except for the one facing the port, which sprawls out along the shore of the Gydra Mere. The port is always bustling with activity, with ships from all over the world docked in its harbors, bringing goods and travelers to the city.
The city is home to a diverse population, with bustling residential districts that sprawl out from the central area. The residential districts are filled with pagoda-style buildings that add a unique charm to the city's architecture. These buildings are typically made of wood and feature ornate carvings and intricate designs. Many of the city's residents live in these buildings, which are often multistory and contain numerous apartments.
El-Makath is also home to two prestigious academies: the Cinder Spire Aether Academy and the Ulious Knights Academy. The Cinder Spire Aether Academy is located near the edge of the city and is a hub of magical research and experimentation. The academy is renowned for its research in aether magic, and its scholars and students come from all over the world to study there.
The Ulious Knights Academy, on the other hand, is located in the heart of the city and is a prestigious school for training knights. The academy is well-known for its rigorous training program, and many of the Hekkeran Empire's most skilled knights have been trained there.
In the center of the city lies a bustling bazaar, where merchants from all over the world come to sell their wares. The bazaar is a hub of activity, with the sounds of haggling and bartering filling the air. Despite its grandeur, El-Makath is not without its problems. Poverty and crime can be found in some parts of the city, and tensions between the ruling elite and the common people occasionally boil over into unrest.
However, the shining walls of the emperor's castle serve as a symbol of hope and unity, reminding the people of El-Makath that, no matter their differences, they are all part of the great Hekkeran Empire. Together, they can overcome any challenge and continue to thrive in the stunning city of El-Makath.

Government
El-Makath is part of the Greater Hekkeran Empire. It is ruled by Emperor Gelden Von Mictner Hyltannis Reladon III, with the help of the Imperial Court. While The Emperor will always have the final say in any political decision or decision that will impact the country, the court is there to help relieve any burden and to advise the Emperor at any time.
Guilds and Factions
There are many crafting guilds and trades within the Empire. However, the most well know and talked about guild would be the Nidiran Adventurers Guild. While the adventurers guild is a huge source of financing for many of the adventurers in the country, there are many rules and regulations placed upon the people who sign with them, and guild adventurers are provided the proper insurances and promise of coin upon completion of any assignment.. There are many adventurers who wish not to be held down by guild rules and politics as well, these men and women are known as Lancers. The Lancers may not have work as frequently but when they do they do not have to abide by guild guidelines and subsequently aren't insured or backed by the guild either. However, it does mean they can take jobs directly from clients rather than dealing with the guild politics.
