Ansbirg
Ansbirg is a small town nestled at the northeast end of frozen Lake Ansbirg in the frigid tundra of the Theocracy. Despite the harsh conditions, the town has close ties to Felle Veign Citadel and is considered an important center for worship of the Law Bearer, the only god allowed to be worshipped in the Theocracy. Ansbirg is home to one of the oldest temples to the Law Bearer in the region, and many pilgrims make the treacherous journey to pay their respects.
The town itself is made up of sturdy, weather-beaten structures built from local stone and ice. Its citizens are hardy and resourceful, and have learned to survive in the harsh environment through a combination of fishing, hunting, and trading with nearby settlements. Despite the isolation, the people of Ansbirg are proud of their connection to the Theocracy and take great care to maintain their ties to Felle Veign Citadel.
The Law is highly valued in Ansbirg, and residents are expected to follow the strict codes set forth by the Holy See. Any breaches of the law are met with harsh punishment, often including forced labor, incarceration, or even public execution. Magic is highly restricted, and those found to be practicing it are quickly dealt with by the local authorities. Despite these strict laws, the people of Ansbirg are known for their kindness and hospitality towards visitors, as long as they respect the town's traditions and beliefs.
