Temple of the Platinum Dragon
The Platinum Dragon, Bahamut, is one of the most universally popular of the Twelve.
Tenets of Faith
- Stand as a paragon of honor and justice.
- Smite evil wherever it is found, yet show compassion to those who have strayed from the path of righteousness.
- Defend the weak, bring freedom to the persecuted, and protect the ideals of justice and order.
Ethics
- Followers of Bahamut are encouraged to give to charity. Greed is Tiamat's domain, so every act of generosity makes her a little bit less powerful.
- Defending those weaker or less privileged than oneself pleases the Platinum Dragon, even in the smallest of ways. Stand up for somebody when they're being bullied. Speak out against injustice.
Sects
- Mainline Bahamutites span many walks of life. People in leadership positions hold him in especially high esteem, and heads of state are expected to show up at their local Temple of Bahamut at least a couple of times a year. Good-aligned dragons and dragonkin have small shrines to him in their lairs or homes. But he is also very popular with common folk of many species; Bahamut's wings shield the weak and persecuted, no matter their species, and he preaches redemption for those who have lost their way.
- The Order of the Righteous Flame is the main militaristic branch of the temple, comprised of paladins and clerics who lend their strength to causes of justice. They devote much of their considerable resources to combating followers of Tiamat, Bahamut's nemesis.
- The Order of the Platinum Soul is the Bahamutites' monastic branch. Platinum Souls strive to become more like the metallic dragons they idolize, shaping their ki to give themselves spectral wings and breath weapons.
