Tiamat
The Scaled Tyrant
Tiamat was once a powerful gold dragon, one of Bahamut's firstborn. But in the Dawn Era, she became too fond of wealth and power, and her greed consumed her. She tempted other dragons to follow her ways as well. In time, she became a twisted parody of her former self, a massive drake with five heads that eternally scheme and hunger. Her followers were similarly cursed; their scales lost their metallic sheen, changing to red, white, black, green, and blue. Thus Tiamat became the queen of chromatic dragons, and the goddess of avarice.
Divine Domains
Tiamat is the goddess of greed. Her main patronage is towards chromatic dragons, but she will accept worship from all who crave wealth and power.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
The main symbol for Tiamat is five dragon claws, representing the five primary chromatic breeds, arrayed in a circle like a star. Particularly fancy renditions (which she very much approves of) may have claws fashioned from ruby, diamond, obsidian, emerald, and sapphire, set into a golden medallion or disk.
Tenets of Faith
- Amass wealth, but spend little. The gold -- and the power that comes with it -- is sufficient reward in itself.
- Do not forgive nor forget an indignity to yourself. Let no affront go unpunished.
- Take what you covet. Those without the strength to defend their dominion are not worthy to have one.
