Okarthel
Maligned by many for their role in the era of the Draconic Dominions many centuries ago, dragons, dragonborn, and other scaly folk prefer to keep to themselves. A group of them, led by the ancient silver dragon Mioniarrath, crossed the Roaring Plains to settle in the Dragonspire Mountains (which they named and charted) ahead of anyone else in the 2530's. While the dragons found lairs all through the mountains, the dragonborn made a place for themselves at the southern edge of the mountain range, where the land is too dry and rocky for most other people. Other scalykind such as saurials and kobolds soon followed. They named this city-state Okarthel, meaning simply "home" in the Draconic language.
Demography and Population
The majority of Okarthel's population is made up of dragonborn, who represent 46%. The remainder consists of kobolds (21%), asabi (15%), and saurials (9%), with the last part (2%) being half-dragons and other dragon-blooded folk. Full-blooded dragons are also regular visitors, and the streets are built wide enough to accommodate an average adult, but few live there full-time. All types are welcome as long as they obey the law.

Religion
Okarthel is notable as a major center for the Temple of the Platinum Dragon. Even most of the kobolds, lizardfolk, and other smaller scaly races pay their respects to Bahamut, and some are fully converted.
