Kord

The Storm Lord

The Storm Lord rules over the din of battle, the crash of thunder, and the roaring crowds of the arena. He delights in shows of strength, and he often puts mortals in difficult situations to encourage them to grow stronger. Thus, Kord is the patron of warriors, athletes, and storms. His temper is fierce, but those who can keep up with him are rewarded.
Kord takes the form of a large, muscular humanoid male (usually human or orc), heavily bearded, clad either in a leather kilt or nothing at all to show off as much of his impressive figure as possible. Most depictions have him brandishing a large weapon or wrestling with some fearsome beast.

Divine Domains

Kord is the god of battle, athletics, competition, storms, and challenges. Athletes, warriors, and people experiencing times of strife turn to him to find the strength to persevere.
Somewhat more recently, Kord has become popular with non-evil orcs and half-orcs. The first to break from their kind and follow him were the plains orcs, but an increasing number of mountain orcs have also been walking away from Gruumsh in the last few centuries. Kord was skeptical at first, and he subjects his new followers to much adversity to test their dedication, but he has become fond enough of them to even appear as an orc at times.
