Relay Crystals and Their Uses

Relay Crystals are magical, translucent rocks that when broken off into chunks from a larger vein stay connected and relay data and information to the original crystal.
After the initial discovery of Relay Crystals by Bahal, and soon other neighboring species, they have been used in recent technology as far as weapon wielding, weapon storage, elevators, moving platforms, etc. If the job requires a handless involvement, Relay Crystals have likely been used.
In the usage of weaponry, in this instance, Veskrians on duty will be given one small Relay crystal to install on preferably a gauntlet of their choice. Afterwards, the wearer will bond with the Relay Crystallite, as the Crystallite will now be connected via their Mana Gate. Another Crystallite split from the previous, and a larger Relay Crystal from which the Crystallites resided from, will also be given to the wearer in question to keep in safe housing. The second Crystallite will be placed onto the weapon of choice, which can be changed intermittently between weapons. Once connection between the Crystallites and Parent Crystal have been established, the wearer can now equip their weapon when getting into a situation.
Because the Crystallite on their gauntlet is connected to the Mana Gate, this means that the Crystallite can read the wearer's intent. Once the wearer reaches for their weapon, the Crystallite will communicate with the Parent Crystal's data storage, which in turn awakens the weapon in waiting, transferring it from one space into the owner's hand that wears the calling Crystallite! As a result, the weapon in question will float by the user's side, swinging wherever the gauntlet Relay guides them.
It should be noted that Parent Relay Crystals will only store items that have a Relay Crystallite placed on them. Normal items can be placed in normal chests!
To cut this into simple terms: One relay Crystallite is worn on the gauntlet/trinket of a Veskrian's dominant hand, which will in turn contact its sibling Crystallite, which will relay its connection to the Parent Relay Crystal. To make this even more simpler, imagine a string of beads when thinking about the connection of Relay Crystals, where a much larger bead is placed at the very end of the string. This is how the connection of Relay Crystals in weaponry works.
In the form of technology, the meathods of using Relay Crystals can vary. Sometimes only the Parent Crystal needs to be contacted, in others, Crystalite chunks are cut from one another to create a continuous string of connection, which would likely be used for elevators.
