Mystics and Flight

Mystic Class creatures, while they may be physically wingless in many cases, more often than not gain an ability to fly regardless of the slight handicap. This is done purely by the manipulation of Mana on their bodies which can be used to propel their bodies into the air via Levitation. Said mana can also be manipulated to form a pair of ethereal wings should a Mystic will it, however this depends entirely as to how large a Mystic's Mana Gate is according to their species.
Because Mystics use mana as a form of flight, they can propel themselves at mach speeds with enough of a boost. While they can manipulate mana to push themselves forward, not every Mystic is guaranteed to be able to control their angle of direction once they hit a certain level of speed, and can very easily become unstable and send themselves careening out of the sky and likely into a mountainside.
 That being said, every boost of energy will take a chunk of mana compared to flying/gliding normally, which only slowly eats away at the Mana Gate. The Mana Gate becomes a battery to a flying mystic, and it must be preserved for as long as the Mystic flies. Should their mana run out, they will drop from the sky immediately either into the jaws of another creature waiting below, into water, or into a swift, flattened death upon impact with the ground.
