Frigid Uboso
Uboso subspecies frequenting the Frigid Pillars and the Frostbitten Grotto.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Uboso are skull faced, bipedal reptilians capable of quadrupedal locomotion. They have digigrade legs, have large square scutes over their hands, tail base, jaw lining, and shoulders, and have spikes on their necks, shoulders, and tail ends. Every Uboso is also born with a living flame down their neck and tail tip as it is linked to their very life source. While their faces do resemble very closely to a skull, they have eyelids inside of their 'sockets' and slit nostrils behind the 'nasal cavity opening'. Most Uboso also have a lining of flesh between their upper and lower jaw that sits inside of their 'skull'. It is unknown why the anatomy of their head is almost inverted compared to other creatures, though it bothers them not in their daily activities.
Biological Traits
Frigid Uboso specifically have Cryogenic Sacs that allow them to breathe an icy vapor used to wear down their prey/opponents. As they continue to apply said vapor, the vapor combined with moisture in the air freezes wherever the vapor has touched, thus forming a block of ice on their target.
Ecology and Habitats
Frigid Uboso have a preference for taigas and mountain areas. Deserts are the very bane of their existence. Frigid Uboso do not do well in extremely hot and dry environments.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Uboso are strict carnivores, only having teeth for rending flesh and crunching bones to consume marrow and bone shards. The calcium in bones helps fuel their fire along side the digestion of meat. They also feed on crystals that grow along the mountainsides to fuel their Cryogenic Sacs.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Uboso live in clans among one another, as they are social creatures. As such, there are omega, beta, and Alpha ranking Ubosi in these clans.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Uboso have exceptional night vision and are extremely good at listening for potential prey. As such, they hunt mainly at night due to high brightness sensitivities to their eyes. They are capable of diurnal life, however, they prefer to wander heavily shaded areas or on overcast days where the sun's glare is less intense.
