The Tear

Summary

At some point Approximately 12-10,000 years ago an unknown event caused the Planes of existence to bleed over into one another, resulting in catastrophic destruction on a nearly apocalyptic scale. Unfortunately very little is known about the time before this as very little survived this event, what little structures remain have mostly sunk beneath the ocean or rest beneath the dormant volcanic region of Othrin.
It's also believed this event caused several planes of existence to collapse entirely.

Historical Basis

While very little records remain from the era, evidence of its occurrence are very apparent, whether it's the abundance of creatures with origins rooted in planes other than the material or the small portions of planes leftover like buildings and small areas with strange magic.

Spread

The story of the Tear is well known and commonly shared as a story for children and a number of churches reference it within their doctrines.
