Company Rules

Company Rules     A company is a party of fellow adventurers that wish to make a name for themselves together. As such there will be events and missions specifically for companies. Companies can only attend these missions and events, they cannot attend other missions and events in an official capacity nor be supported by the normal scheduling rules. (They are treated as individuals)   A company gains prestige for the company itself, therefore the prestige of its members do not add to its total, however, the prestige of a company can add to the prestige of a character, if that company becomes a faction, in which case, that character will receive prestige as a founding member. In addition, a company can be sponsored at creation to give a starting prestige amount, these sponsors can be other factions, leaders of countries or powerful entities. However, these individuals may make a demand to receive their favor, so it is advised to tread carefully. Companies are like small factions and they have rules for population, cause, heraldry and property. Eventually a company can become a faction, a transformation that takes time and effort, but allows a unique impact on the living world.   A character may be in both a faction and a company. But they may only be in one company at a time.   Completion of a Company Mission awards Prestige to the Company, but not to the individuals that participated.   Hiring Steel Saints as mercenaries for a Company Mission can benefit and progress the Steel Saints faction.   A company has a maximum population of 7 until it ascends to faction-hood. The company must start with at least 4 to become a company.   A company must represent a cause of some kind, indicated by a tenet system, to determine the actions, behaviors and reputation of its members. Only 1 tenet is required but a company may have up to 6. Eventually these will become the tenets of its ascended faction.   Tenets must be clear indication of rules and if they are contradictory to each other must be given appropriate reason. Political DMs and the Overmaster will ultimately decide the validity and possibility of tenets, but there is plenty of room for clarification and prose. It costs 1,000 GP per starting member to start a company, this is to pay for uniforms, banners and various licenses to act independently and internationally. When the company reaches prestige 2, they may purchase company property (such as the guild hall), once purchased, the company can use this as an official HQ and can cause company specific events to occur as well as mission requests to be received. To ascend to faction-hood, the company must have a property that can house at least 10 members simultaneously. Should a company attempt to ascend to faction hood and their chosen property is in a country or other regulated area, they must receive permission       So for ease of reference
