The Wild things within

The planets great cities and monuments to mankind were built fundementally upon the earth and soils foundation. It was the Goddess Lenar who was tasked with tending to this soil and ensuring life would flourish and grow. Eventually Lenar would become so embroiled in her work she thought of nothing else. Her body slowly changed into plant matter; long vines that stretched underneath the very ground itself. In her plant form she watched mankind build over and tunnel into the very earth she cultivated. This enraged Lenar and eventually she shed her vine like apperance and instead turned to a more hideous visage. the firt monster of Verra'Talu was spawned. Lenar beame a great wyrm-serpent and attacked anyone who dared distrub the earth.

It was only through prayer and a young childs plea to Lenar to stop the destrution that the goddess stopped. Lenar invited the child to converse with her in the place below the earth. As the child was lead to the entrance strange gluttunal sounds were heard from within. However the bravery of the child shone through and undetered they walked into the entrance. The long caverns that used to house the vine like form of the goddess was discovered and became known as the underdark. Monsters would oassionally spill forth from its vile holes and the child was never seen again.

Customs of the Wild

When someone choses to follow the goddess Lenar they do so knowing they will be looked at with suspision and curiosity. Lenars followers are known as Exiles and live amongst the wilderness and forests of Verra'Talu. Most Exiles of Lenar repurpose old monster carcases and hides into clothing making the followers of Lenar very distinctive and easy to pick out. Trade with the follwers brings in much revenue flr the various shrines and temples that have been set up in the overgrown back gardens of Verra'Talu.
