Electron Bolt
The Electron Bolt is the bread and butter of any self-respecting energy-bender. It's a relatively simple effect that can be enacted quickly, and it can be very effective for assaulting enemy troops. This is the first effect every Dark Tribe member learned before going to war.
Effect
To acheive an electron bolt, a psion uses their power to move electrons from one area to another. The zone electrons are moved away from becomes an area of positive charge and the zone electrons are moved into becomes and area of negative charge. When released, the electrons rush back into the positively charged area like air into a vacuum, creating a lightning bolt between the two points that will do anything from making the target's hair stand on end to turning them into a crispy pile of ash, depending on the volume of electrons used in creating the effect.
Side/Secondary Effects
When casting an electron bolt, the caster must make sure to keep hold of all the electrons they mean to use until they are ready to release them. Many learning psions attempting this spell don't have a firm enough grip on the electrons used in it so the majority slip back into the positive zone in a steady stream rather than a thundering crash. That said, no psion is perfectly capable of maintaining a grip on all the electrons that they mean to use, so creatures within the area of effect will often feel a small tingle a second before the strike hits.
Manifestation
For all intents and purposes, The electron bolt is a lightning strike. A flash of light and heat can be expected, as well as a static charge to nearby objects.

Gestures & Ritual
While not required, it has been known to help psions to concentrate if they clasp their hands together when the spell begins, then slowly pull them apart, helping the psion to visualize the positive and negative energy zones diverging from each other.

Applied Restriction
the electrons will travel from the negative zone to the positive zone by the path of least resistance, so a target that is underwater or wearing metallic armor may not be affected at all.
