Stumbleduck
The gnome's kingdom is called Stumbleduck because the gnomes were amused by the humans need to stumble through the underbrush and duck under the low hanging tree branches to reach the city
Structure
The kingdom of Stumbleduck has a very loose ruling system. They look to their elders to give them advice and make decisions on behalf of their people. When the humans explained to them the concept of a king, the gnomes simply picked out the oldest living gnome to serve as theirs.
Culture
The people of Stumbleduck live simple care free lives. They do not care for the troubles of the world outside their forest kingdom, and choose to live day by day.
History
Many years ago the gnomes lived peaceful lives in the Fey wilds. Then Mav, queen of the shadow court began to enslave many of the gnomish race. To escape the evil queen, the gnomes followed their goddess Fadwe to the material plane where they started a new life. When discovered by humans they entered an alliance and thus the kingdom of Stumbleduck was born.
Demography and Population
80% Sylvneblin, 10% Petraneblin, 5% human, 4% Ithilalfar, 1% other.
Military
Stumbleduck's military is more of a militia made up of anyone willing to fight should the need arise. The forest has it's own dangers that the stumbleduckiens must face from time to time.
Religion
Having once been natives of the Fey wilds, the gnomes still venerate the old gods Oberon and Titania as well as Fadwe the savior of their race.
Foreign Relations
Stumbleduck enjoys a peaceful alliance with it's neighbors. They have no desire to invade lands outside their forest, and they are welcoming of outsiders that are willing to make the trek through the dense forest to reach their settlements.
Education
Village elders take an active role in educating the next generation via word of mouth. It is a common sight in a gnomish village for an old gnome to stand up on a stump and just start telling stories, weather or not anyone happens to be listening.
Infrastructure
The gnomes normally build their homes out of hollowed out tree trunks, or dug into the sides of hills. Very often these "buildings" have more than one escape tunnel that leads to a larger tunnel network, in case evacuation is necessary.
