Rangers of the Gnarley

The Gnarley Rangers of the Gnarley Forest are some 200 strong, most of them born woodsmen, with a few Half-Elves among them. The oath is not very restrictive, involving promises to protect the integrity of the forest, to help good folk in need, and to revere a Power of Good (usually Ehlonna ).   Corustaith is the place where rangers, woodsmen of renown, Swanmay's, and agents of good know how to meet discreetly and among good fellowship. The rangers patrol, guard and adventure in and out of the forest.

Greenjerkin Rangers of Furyondy

The Greenjerkin Rangers of Furyondy are a troop of some 50 rangers who police the uppermost reaches of the Gnarley Forest and the nearby small river port town of Stalmaer. They work with the local druids and serve as protectors of the Gleaming Glades . They are skilled archers and elite scouts. They are a tightly knit group, but outside rangers who earn their respect may be invited to join their ranks—a definite honor for a skilled forester. The town of Stalmaer is located in The Gold County at the juncture of the Att and Velverdyva River.

Sylvan Rangers of the Gnarley

The elven clans of the Gnarley Forest live in small, secluded communities, usually in tree houses thirty to fifty feet above the forest floor. They are divided into four clans. Clan allegiances are a source of pride and a badge of honor. The clans do not usually live separately, preferring mixed clan communities.   In the Gnarley as a whole, there are some 7,500 Sylvan Elves . They live in small, secluded communities, usually in tree houses 30-50 feet above the forest floor. They are divided predominantly into four clans, and clan allegiances are a source of pride and a badge of honor.   Elves of the Gnarley Forest

Clan Meldarin

Meldarin elves are renowned for their bowmanship, and in many ways are the most completely adapted to their life and home. A Meldarin elf is said to be able to predict the weather a week ahead simply by inspecting moss on an ipp tree. This clan has the highest proportion of half-elves, and is the friendliest toward humans and gnomes. Many of this clan reveres Ehlonna in addition to the Elven Powers.   Most join the order of the bow initiates while some more intelligent ones become arcane archers. They are excellent bowyers and fletchers and make the finest products. This clan is mostly made up of wood elves and it also has the highest amount of half-elves in the clans. They are the only clan to fully accept the half-elves. Some members of this clan are said to be able to predict the weather a week ahead simply by inspecting mosses on an ipp tree
