Personal history
Patrin was born with the blood of Ishenalyr running through his veins. He was taught the importance of loyalty to the family, and doing what was needed to further the family's, and Ishenalyr's, goals. When he was younger, he would travel between the oases his family controlled. He ensured that the oases hadn't been taken over or attacked, and on the road they would protect any travelers, for a price. By the time the last imyr of Tharu died, Patrin's family had been scheming for years to put one of their own in the position. Patrin was selected, and he has been working to help promote his families plans for five years.

Patrin is trying to retain control of the oasis, and get traffic to flow through Abydos because his blood controls it. He also is currently gathering the materials and workers to build a mansion for himself along the river near Tharu.
