Kemonon History

This article describes the first creation of these creatures and their current place in the world of Venhum.   History in Venhum
Kemonon where not always part of the World of Venhum and only came into being through the will of the land itself, in need of protection and guardians that the world itself could not provide. It was during the times of the First Sundering, as well as the Throne Wars that repeated themselves almost every century, where one of the gods tries to claim the world as their own or does not wish to forfeit their divine powers to the cycle that they had created. During these times many non humanoids were were casualties, that no one seemed to care about, as animals across Venhum suffered and died in the wake of destruction. After each of these tragic events, the restless spirits of these animals gathered in a place, that had called them from the great beyond and offered them a new way of life, a way to directly interact with the world if they wish to do so. Some of these vengeful spirits agreed, whilst others wished to heal and restore those left behind after these tragedies. Within this new home, this mass of interconnected islands, known as the Sunray Archipelago, the spirits possessed unfortunate dead bodies within the forests and caves, creating strange undead Anima, that roamed and lived within this archipelage. Through time and understanding of their new sentience, they became a whole new civilization, to a point where their evolution turned their younglings into living creatures, surpassing the undead curse of their parents, alive, well and full of potential: The Kemonon, as we know them, were born.   Over time, factions began to build within the Kemonon, usually devided by their animalistic features and customs. The strongest and most known are the following four:
  • Kagenome. Kagenome, also known as "Shadoweyes", resemble fluffier, bear-like creatures and the most common ones resemble pandas, raccoons and sloths. Some of the might be a bit chaotic, by overall they are kind and loving spirits.
  • Nagaihana. Nagaihana, often referred to as "Canine", is the biggest faction next to their counterpart, the Tabaxi, and consist of canine humanoids, the three most common being foxes, hyenas and wolves. They are strong and proud spirits, consisting of mostly warriors.
  • Tabaxi. Tabaxi, the more feline of the Kemonon, are humanoids resembling catlike features and have equal if not stronger capabilities like them. With sharp claws and even sharper wits, these Kemonon can overcome many challenges, often resembling "domesticated" cats, lions or panthers.
  • Triton. Tritons are the underwater living race of the Kemonon, living inbetween the islands, guarding the boarders to each factions land, as well as protect the Sunray Archipelage from outside threats. They are intelligent, yet strange creatures often with weird and unnatural abilities outside of the water, looking like humanoid fish, molluks and sharks.
  • Usually they understand their role as a protector of the land and sea, but sometimes their cultures clash in savage civil wars, forcing some of their kin to leave the islands to seek shelter, or maybe their own destiny, in the main continents of Venhum!
