Session 6A - Friends on the run
General Summary
The duo continue the escape to try to bring those following away from the injured Tabaxi and his brother.
As the two Tabaxi go off into the hills the duo cover the tracks as best they can, and head off in the direction of Drayu, hoping to lure any pursuers.
The two race through the forests, just ahead of the following troops, using whatever tricks they can come up with to divert the troops. Goliath carries Nermo through the night to try and get ahead of the following troops. They turn gently curve, trying to get back to Nanxi, but are cut off by the troops, so they head to a small fishing village.
They split up, Goliath making extra noise to try and get them to follow him, so that Nermo may make it safely to the village and hopefully steal a boat and get it ready to sail.
As they get close to the village Nermo is caught up to by one of the two that followed him. He engaged Egghan, killing him, then managed to get to one of the boats and throw off the lines. Just as he did that Goliath came charging out the trees, followed closely by a number of troops, as he was sprinting for the boat the second man following Nermo burst out of the trees as well. Goliath put on a burst of speed and leaped onto the boat, hitting the far side and sending it skittering out into the open water. Just as this happened a fog rolled in from down the mountains, pushing the boat further out into the ocean, and making it impossible for pursuit.
They decided that upon reflection, since neither of them knew how to sail a boat, that they should put in to shore, they found a good bay that they could land in, and scuttled the boat. then took off on foot through the forests. They decided against going to Nanxi, seeing the amount of troops searching for them, they figured that would be near to suicide, and so instead headed to Shixia, hoping to avoid the troops.
They made it without incident to the border, where they noticed there was a large picket line of men waiting to see if anyone tried to cross the border. The two did manage to sneak across in the cover of darkness, and upon wandering for a couple days on the other side of the border, trying to make their way to a city, they were approached by a man who road out of the forest.
He introduced himself as a Shixia Ranger, and asked them to come with him, as they had crossed the border illegally, and he needed to bring them in. Nermo made a hilariously flawed attempt to lie his way out of it, but eventually agreed.
They were brought to the Tower of Aquan, to meet Lord Vitho, where they pled their case, and asked for any help that could be to try and find their lost friends Milo and River.
