Velun

Velun a small planet, only 10K miles across, but that is probably because of how it came to be. Join us for the tale of Velun, and the heroes it claims.   The world is strange place, for a season, there appears to be a breaking of the rules of magic, wild energies flow freely, warping and corrupting magics that are tried during this time. There are 9 moons that rotate around the world, an additional moon hovers over the north and south poles. It appears that these moons bring a stability to most of the year, but during the season known as Chaos, there is no moon in the sky. This season can't rightly be called a month, as time seems to warp, as well as the fabric of reality itself, odd things are seen and heard. There are spontaneous deserts, that appear, and then disappear with as much suddenness. No one is sure what is real and what is not during this time. There are some safe areas, but no one is sure why, or what has caused the structure of reality to be stronger in these spots.   Some effects are mundane such as sudden storms and tornadoes. Odd anomalies include rivers that change to flow upstream, lava that stops being hot, or areas of monochrome color. Some of the strongest anomalies are areas of frozen time, mountains that drift to new places, and even resurrection of the dead.   The moons over the poles hover so close to the surface that they generate intense storms, they can't be seen past their respective storms, neither of these moons travel the path and things become out of balance when there is no moon in the sky, this is what is theorized to cause the chaos. These moons are responsible for the northern hemisphere being cold and the southern hemisphere being hot. They also keep the winds moving across the world. Its been the goal of many an adventurer to find a way to the poles.   There is a floating ship that circles the planet, it is massive but only few have ever been close to it. No one has ever survived the attempt to board it, for the magic protecting it is strong.
