Wortham is dedicated to the betterment of Vorgan's youth through strict discipline and education.

History

Wortham's is and has always been a school for unruly children. Those that were too headstrong for their parents and apprenticeships often found themselves boarded here for a tidy sum. They teach a mix of trades, basic academia and operate like a military academy. They enforce strict discipline for both boys and girls to middling results.
After the plague, the cost to attend was lowered as more people needed education but the perception of the school and the daily operations were unchanged. It is seen as a punishment to be sent to Worthams as even well-behaved students often find themselves under the disciplinary thumb of the school's enforcers, thanks to the actions of less honorable students.
This poor reputation is why the school has been nicknamed Worties and its students called worts by other children (and likely a few adults as well).
