Lerun'tari (High Elves)

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

@Lerun'Dai Are the military of the High-elves. They focus on protecting the desert from the creatures that otherwise call it home. They also perform search and rescue missions when people are lost and they keep watch on the forests to ensure the wood-elves never encroach.

Average Technological Level

Rune shaping has allowed the Lerun'tari an unprecedented level of technology fueled by magic.

Common Dress Code

Typically light fabrics with skin open to the sun. Their clothing is made for heat dispersal, not protecting from cold and rain. That said the fabrics are done in such a way that they can quickly be turned from thin wraps of modesty into whole body wraps to protect from the raging sandstorms that frequent the area.

History

To understand who the Lerun'tari are, you must first know of the events that lead them into the Lerun'Deji Desert, specifically the events of The Lerun'tari Exodus (See the Historic Timeline as it won't link). After creating the city of Deji, also known as the City of Crystal Spires, the Lerun'tari began pursuing more abstract goals. Some turned their attention to the desert surrounding their home, turning the vast inhospitable waste into a crystalline forest for miles around. Other sought to purge the ferocious beasts which often plagued the city. Others turned their attention towards magic, hoping to gain greater mastery over the world and learn better how to harness magic to their own ends.   It was in this pursuit that the Lerun'tari discovered Velucian, and discovered the art of Rune Shaping. Despite attempts to keep it a secret, nothing stays hidden forever, and a century after it's initial creation, rune shaping was brought to the rest of the world. It would be another century before its adoption was completely widespread, but that is a story for another time.   Despite the harshness of their local, the Lerun'tari built themselves a paradise. No one had want or need for food or water, and eventually, even the beast of Lerun'deji knew better than to venture too close, lest the Lerun'dai put an end to their miserable lives.
