Tyrannis Rexintrom
Within the Imperial Institute of the Arcane in Artoria, roams a creature unlike any other - a tyrannosaur with a mind of his own. This apex predator is not like others of his kind as he has been given sentience by the powerful wizard Mordenkainen, and as a result, the tyrannosaur has been granted a new purpose in life. He became the Attendant of Grounds for the White Star at the Institute, tasked with maintaining the vast gardens and grounds as well as greet visitors, organize projects, and – if needed – act as security.
The tyrannosaur was given the name Tyrannis Rexintrom, a fitting moniker for a creature that was once feared and revered as the ultimate predator. But Tyrannis has left his wild ways behind and now has a new appreciation for the beauty and tranquility of nature. He spends his days roaming the gardens, tending to the plants, and even helping the gardeners with their tasks. His presence is a wonder to behold, and many within the institute frequently pause in awe of this unique creature.
Despite his fearsome appearance, Tyrannis has a gentle nature and is highly intelligent. He is able to communicate with humanoids in common, gnomish, dwarven, and is learning Undercommon and Triton. He is highly respected by his fellow attendants and is considered a valuable asset to the White Star.
However, Tyrannis's path to becoming the Attendant of Grounds was not an easy one. When Mordenkainen first found him, Tyrannis was a wild and aggressive beast. It took a great deal of courage and patience – not to mention expert timing – for Mordenkainen to execute his newly developed spell and touch the beast, allowing it to awaken. But once Tyrannis was able to think and reason like a human, he became a completely different creature. He was no longer a wild and fearsome predator but had become a thoughtful and caring creature with a deep appreciation for nature.
As the Attendant of Grounds, Tyrannis had a unique perspective on the world around him. He can sense changes in the environment and anticipate upcoming weather patterns. He is able to use this knowledge to maintain the gardens and grounds to the best of his abilities, ensuring that they are always in pristine condition. His tireless efforts are much appreciated by everyone within the Institute, who see him as a symbol of hope, progress, and arcane accomplishments.
Despite his many duties, Tyrannis still has time to explore the world around him. It took some time, but the citizens of Artoria have come to love him and gladly make way as he walks through the city on an errand for the White Star or when he’s on his way outside the White Wall. He is fascinated by the natural world and will often wander into the nearby Blackwood, observing the creatures that call it home. He even has become friends with some of the wildlife, forming a unique bond with the creatures of the land. To Tyrannis, every living thing is precious, and he has a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of nature.
Tyrannis's unique position as an Attendant of Grounds has given him a new sense of purpose and belonging. He found a new home with the White Star, surrounded by people who understand and appreciated him for who he was, and embrace the idea that being different is nothing to hide. Those at the Institute and citizens who live near the grounds have grown to love him, and many of them have formed close bonds with the former predator. Tyrannis has found a new family in the White Star, and will always be grateful for the opportunity to serve and protect the gardens and grounds of this prestigious institute and those he calls friends.
Tyrannis's story is a testament to the power of transformation and the potential for growth and change. Once a fierce and fearsome predator, he has evolved into a thoughtful and caring creature with a deep appreciation for the natural world. His journey has been long and difficult, but in the end, he’s found a new purpose in life, one that is far more meaningful and rewarding than anything he had experienced before.

"I am forever grateful for what Master Mordenkainen has done for me. Without him, I would never have been able to experience the joys of life as a sentient being and truly appreciate the world around me. As the Attendant of Grounds, I take great pride in my position and will always strive to serve the White Star and the Imperial Institute to the best of my abilities."
